It seems the imperialist tendencies of the United States are hard to kill.
It seems clear that the neo-conservatives are intent on maintaing a hegemony.
My definition of hegemony is an established order or heirarchy that is deemed natural.

You may have a different sense of the word but whenever I think of it I am also reminded
of its opposite, counter-hegemony. Just as there is a herstory to every history,
there is a counter-hegemony to every hegemony. So there is the natural order and
there is the trans-natural order which is subversive, sub-altern, and transnational.

This counter-hegemony or counter-culture is stronger, more ancient, and more powerful
than any neo-conservitive or radical right-wing agenda and will prevail triumphant.

By the way, my evil twin is a neo-conservative and will be voting for Bush next Tuesday.

B'Shalom,
